DomCop MCP server

Ask Claude or ChatGPT for expired domains with real metrics. No API key, no setup beyond one URL.

MCP, the Model Context Protocol, is the open standard that lets an AI assistant call outside tools. The DomCop MCP server is a hosted connector for Claude and ChatGPT. Once it is added, you ask in plain words and the assistant searches DomCop for you.

The server address is

https://mcp.domcop.com/mcp

It reads the same lists as the website: every name coming up for auction or dropping at GoDaddy, DynaDot, NameJet, SnapNames, DropCatch, Sedo, Namecheap and the registries' own drop lists, with Majestic Trust Flow and Citation Flow, Moz Domain Authority and Spam Score, Ahrefs Domain Rating, Open PageRank, age and price on every row.

You do not need a DomCop account to try it. Without one you get the free preview: the first 25 rows of any search, with every metric. A DomCop plan opens the full lists.

Custom connectors are available on the Claude plans that allow them, on claude.ai, in Claude Desktop and in the Claude mobile apps. The connector is added once and works in all of them.

  1. Open Claude and go to Settings, then Connectors.
  2. Choose Add custom connector.
  3. Name it DomCop and paste the server URL: https://mcp.domcop.com/mcp
  4. Save. In a new chat, open the tools menu and make sure DomCop is on.

Claude Code, Cursor and other tools that run on your own computer are not supported: the server answers the hosted assistants only. See the limits below.

Custom MCP connectors are available on the ChatGPT plans that allow them, with developer mode switched on.

  1. Open ChatGPT and go to Settings, then Connectors (or Apps).
  2. Under Advanced, turn on Developer mode.
  3. Choose Create, name it DomCop, and paste the MCP server URL: https://mcp.domcop.com/mcp
  4. Choose No authentication for the free preview and save. In a chat, add DomCop from the tools menu.

Some prompts that work well. The assistant turns them into DomCop searches.

  • "Find .com domains ending in the next 24 hours with Trust Flow over 20 and spam score under 10."
  • "Which .io names are dropping this week? Sort by Domain Rating."
  • "Show me GoDaddy closeout domains about coffee with at least 50 referring domains."
  • "What does DomCop know about example.com?"
  • "How many .de domains are in the list right now?"
  • "List aged .org domains, 15 years or older, with Domain Authority over 25."
  • "Find names with 'seo' in them, no adult names, cheapest first."
  • "Explain Trust Flow versus Citation Flow and which matters for a PBN."
  • "Which marketplaces does DomCop cover and how many names does each have today?"
  • "Give me five expiring domains a lawyer could use, with the metrics."

The assistant sees four tools. You never call them by name; it picks the one your question needs.

ToolWhat it does
domcop_searchSearches the live list with filters on extension, marketplace, keyword, Trust Flow, Citation Flow, Domain Authority, Spam Score, Domain Rating, Open PageRank, referring domains, backlinks, age, price and auction end time. Returns the rows with every metric.
domcop_domainThe report for one name: its current listing, listing history, all metrics DomCop holds, age and Wayback history, WHOIS dates and whether it is free to register.
domcop_countsHow many names are listed right now, by list, marketplace and extension.
domcop_glossaryWhat every field means and the exact filter format, so the assistant can build unusual searches.

All four are read-only. The server never fetches data from Majestic, Moz or Ahrefs on demand: it answers from what DomCop already holds, the same data the website shows.

Without a DomCop account the server answers from the live list only, 25 rows a search, the first page, in the default order or sorted by one metric. A keyword search is allowed 5 times an hour. Each conversation may make 60 calls an hour. The expired and archive lists, saved searches and exports need a plan.

The server answers the hosted Claude and ChatGPT assistants only. We check the address every call comes from against the ranges Anthropic and OpenAI publish. Tools that run on your own computer, such as Claude Code, Codex CLI, Cursor or scripts, are refused, because from here they cannot be told apart from a scraper.

The metrics come from Majestic (Trust Flow, Citation Flow, backlinks, referring domains), Moz (Domain Authority, Page Authority, Spam Score), Ahrefs (Domain Rating) and Open PageRank, a DomCop project. Every answer says so, and the assistant is asked to credit them when it quotes the numbers.

We log each tool call with the assistant it came from, the tool, the row count and the time taken. We do not see your conversation; only the arguments the assistant sends to the tool reach us.

Is it free? The preview is. A DomCop plan is needed for the full lists, the same plan that opens them on the website.

Do I need an API key? No. Add the URL and start asking. Signing in with a DomCop account, for the full lists, comes through the connector's own sign-in.

Is there a REST API? No. DomCop offers the MCP server instead, for use inside the assistants.

Which assistants? Claude on claude.ai, Claude Desktop, the Claude mobile apps, and ChatGPT on the web and in its apps.

Something does not work. Tell us through the contact form with the prompt you used and the assistant's reply.
